Effective Date: December 29, 2025
This Privacy Policy describes how API Sniffer - Endpoint Detector ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and discloses information, and what choices you have with respect to the information.
1. Data Collection and Usage
The API Sniffer extension is designed to operate locally on your device. We prioritize user privacy and transparency.
- No Personal Data Collected: We do not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII) such as names, email addresses, or phone numbers.
- Network Traffic Analysis: The extension inspects network requests (XHR/Fetch) strictly within your browser to display API endpoints for debugging purposes. This data is processed in real-time and is not sent to any external server.
- Local Storage: Any captured data or settings are stored locally in your browser's memory using the Chrome Storage API and are removed when you clear your cache or uninstall the extension.
2. Permissions Usage
We request specific permissions to ensure the functionality of the tool:
- webRequest & webRequestBlocking: Used solely to listen for outgoing network requests to capture API endpoints.
- storage: Used to save your filter preferences locally.
- activeTab / Host Permissions: Required to inspect traffic on the specific website you are currently debugging.
3. Third-Party Services
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your information to outside parties. The extension does not use third-party analytics or tracking cookies.
